I explained to the wife that it would take a lot for this truck to impress me. She agreed so we took the R/T for a test drive. I must admit that this truck did impress me right out of the gate. Not for its speed, I have had many big and small block powered mopars that were faster. What did impress me was how great this truck handled. It was quick, nimble and felt like it had glue on the tires as I drove it. Older mopar are legendary for power but we all know they were lacking in the handling department. I was hooked, but still was not convinced this was the right Dakota for us.

This is were I have to thank my wife, after returning back from our test drive. She told me and the salesman that she would like to take it for a spin. When she returned I knew by the smile on here face this Dakota R/T had a new home.

The rest is history we purchased our Dakota R/T on March 3, 1999. We both enjoy it very much!
